VICTORY IN SUPREME COURT OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK COUNTY OF NEW YORK (MANHATTAN)

My client was taken for a ride by a defendant who resides outside of New York State. This particular defendant felt that the geographical distance between him and my client in New York rendered him invulnerable. However, New York State has long arm jurisdiction for defendants who commit torts (civil wrongs) in New York. This means there is power to drag an out of state defendant into New York State court, under certain circumstances. We were able to secure a judge’s decision and order for money damages against the defendant, despite the fact that he resides out of state.
